Hello, Ruelo.

WHOA HOLD ON.

IS THIS A FOOD & FASHION POST?

WHY YES IT IS.

Sadly, this is the best photo of my outfit for Saturday night. Sometimes I wish I had a hologram take my outfit photos for me. I’m too lazy to bring out my tripod and take multiple shots until I get a good one. Yikes, sounds like I’m losing the flame D: but I still love to dress up, no worries. I’m just having a darn diddly difficult time capturing it.

This weekend was a birthday celebration for a friend and we went to an Indian restaurant, a bubble tea place, and a patisserie which was heavily documented in photos by me. However, the place was kind of dim so I had the ISO setting at 6400, making the photos super grainy D: I don’t think I needed to do that, but I had a food coma so I wasn’t thinking straight.

We went to Ruelo in Richmond Hill, a fabulous authentic French patisserie. The owner and primary chef is a very pretty lady who goes by the name of Jackie. She graduated from the University of Toronto in Computer Engineering (uh, SEXY) and later studied to become a pastry chef at Le Cordon Bleu in Ottawa.

The pastries include these shiny dome thingies (I forgot what they were called), MACARONS (very expensive cookies but oh so good…I loved the Espresso one), and cakes. Oh my lordie, it was NIRVANA in a pastry.

Oh, and their teas are AMAZING. When you go to Ruelo, you need to DO IT UP. It’s expensive, but damnit, you don’t do it often so get the whole nine yards! Macarons! Cakes! Teas! Wear pretty clothes! Bring your awesome friends!!!!!

We took lots of pictures, of course. And one creepy dude decided he wanted to be part of the fun too:

LOL yes I am wearing my plum purple WINTER TIGHTS in August. I get cold very easily…

I am wearing…

Blazer: Zara
Yellow Blouse: Wal-Mart (oh yes)
Skirt: Etsy
Tights: eBay
Shoes: Naya at The Bay

  2. This is by far the worst post to read prior to getting my morning tea and biscuit, and my stomach lining is beginning to eat itself from sheer voraciousness. Le sigh.

Cute outfit, but darn you and your tasty-looking treats on a Wednesday morning!

My favorite ones are the macaron shots.
So colorful, they make me happy! Hahaha..

Nothing sexier than an ex-engineer turned pastry chef ;)

  4. You’re so cute! Also, I’m DROOLING!! That dome looks absolutely delicious. Those macarons look a bit fluorescent in colour though, hahaha.
