Toronto is in the middle of a cold spell, which means I am becoming less and less motivated to dress up for work every morning. It’s amazingly stupid how much of an effect the weather has on me. Unfortunately, outfit posts consisting of big sweaters and jeans/corduroy pants just don’t make for interesting content, so I woke up Monday morning with the determination to put an end to being bossed around by cold temperatures.
Of course layering is in order. I’m crazy, but not that crazy.
I got this cape at the closing sale of a random accessories store many years ago. When I wore it in 2005, people commented on how “odd” it looked. Fast forward to today, everyone suddenly thinks this cape is “so chic”. Trends really do brainwash the mind. sigh..
I also wore my favourite boots in accordance with Style Goal #3. Go big or go home.
I am wearing..
Ruffled top: Urban Behaviour
Velvet black skirt: Vintage
Cape: Local accessories store
Gloves: Hugo Boss
Flower bracelet: BCBG
Wedge boots: Stella McCartney

Very nice! I know what you mean about the cold weather killing style! I have been getting a little too “comfortable” lately with my outfits and have to step it up a bit.
I’m in lust with your boots. And your photogenic self. You’re a professional poseur <3
Those shoes are so incredible!!! I can’t get over how amazing they are!
hotness! love it!
Amazing outfit!! I love those boots and the gold buttons on the skirt, you look adorable!
THE BOOTS!!! WHAT WHAT WHAT??????
They’re definitely saying “Screw you, winter!”
I know what you meant, dressing up for work is very challenging when it’s snowing outside. Can’t wear chunky sweaters and sweatpants to work

The boots are insanely cool!
Christine and Justine, where the hell are you?
You look GORGEOUS in this outfit, and your makeup and hair are absolutely impeccable. I love it. I don’t know how you do it. I know, I’m retarded for even saying it, but I’m in beauty envy right now.
Those boots are definitely worthy of conversation, and the cape coat is amazing. It’s distinct and lovely. While it’s total trend now, I bet you loved sporting it when it was different.
XX.
Mae Lu, @ thereafterish.
i adore those boots- they’d go well with just about anything.
PS. Is the title a play on the Brudda Iz (Isreal Kamaka…whatever–sings “Somewhere Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World” ukulele mash-up?) song “Hawaiian Super Man”?
Um. amazing much? those Stella McCartneys are ridiculously HOT. and i’m so glad to see that you’re sticking to your style goals! and funny thing about capes right? it is sad how we all get brainwashed so easily. and you have to tell me the color of that lipstick… hehe
lovely outfit, I like your dress a lot- it enhence your waist so well and you look beautiful!
oh. em. gee…love the shoes. nuff said.
Loooove the outfit!! Boots are so cute, almost as cute as you
I love the skirt! There’s something indescribable about vintage skirts – they really don’t make them the same way nowadays. The buttons are lovely and it’s a very streamlined, flattering cut. The watch-and-gloves combo on the last photo look great too
